Nex is looking for a new addition to its growing supply chain operations team experienced in omni-channel fulfilment and supply chain management in the US market with proven track record and results with strong attention to detail, creativity, adaptability, is results-oriented and has a growth mindset with high energy and a positive attitude.
Job description
As a member of the supply chain operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of the distribution Nex Playground and accessories to multiple distribution channels across the US. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, executing and optimising shipments to various distribution channels, including but not limited to Amazon and some of the bigger retailers in the US.
- Planning, executing and optimising shipments from suppliers based in Mainland China to the US, including the preparation of shipping documents where necessary.
- Ensuring that orders received from EDI are properly transmitted to 3PL for shipment, including but not limited to routing and order forwarding where necessary.
- Keeping track of and reporting inventory level at various locations for internal forecasting purpose and for accounting and auditing purposes.
- Monitoring and remedying any shipment exceptions, including but not limited to filing claims where appropriate.
- Monitoring supply chain costs and billings.
- Direct management and liaison for all US-based fulfilment vendors, including 3PL and freight carriers.
- Management and oversight of in-office inventory, including but not limited to return management, VIP and ad-hoc shipments and inventory tracking and reporting.
- Triage and reporting of product quality issues from returns and serving as the liaison point with suppliers’ customer quality engineering function.
- Serving as the office director on a rotating basis and being responsible for certain office administrative matters.
Key qualifications
A successful candidate is expected to:
- have at least 3 years experience in US e-commerce supply chain and fulfilment
- be based in the Bay Area
- work in office at least 4 days a week
- be able to drive
- have laser-sharp attention to detail
- be a self-motivated person with a growth mindset and eager to learn
- be well organised, both digitally and in real life
- have experience and capability in managing and co-ordinating with multiple vendors
- be able to learn and master using various IT tools, both modern (eg Notion, Slack) and traditional (eg EDI, WMS) quickly
In addition, favourable consideration will be given to candidates who:
- have retail supply chain management experience
- have EDI experience
- have experience managing China-based manufacturers and shipments from China
- have experience managing Mexico-based CKD or SKD supply chain
- have office management and administrative experience
- are proficient in Putonghua and Simplified Chinese and can communicate directly with suppliers in Mainland China
